French teachers’ Representations in Mexico: relation between learned skills when students and those prioritized in teaching

This research compares French as a foreign language teachers’ representations with those held by their prior teachers, about the importance to be attributed some communicative skills (listening and speaking, reading writing) linguistic competences (grammar, vocabulary sociocultural competence). Methodologically, mixed method was adopted. On one hand, 142 FLE teachers from various States of Mexico were invited answer questionnaire in Likert response format. The results indicate statistically significant difference for: (χ2 (1, N = 142) 6.78, p 0.01); writing 9.95, 0.02) competence 4.28, 0.03.). In fact, reveal that today would place greater emphasis on these different than past. other 4 interviews conducted most represented two states survey (Mexico Sonora). general, high tendency for oral reaction poor learning experience past strongly oriented toward traditional approach. nutshell, it is equally observed proficiency, self-efficacy students’ motivation may also determine they provide compared.
